As clinical director of a private practice, Denisha won Best Counselor for Kids. This was the first year the community was polled without people being able to push for votes. Thank you Loudoun for acknowledging the service of clinician's in the County.

Denisha established Denisha Johnson, LLC in August 2017. This was a solo mental health practice, offering individual, family, and group therapy services in Leesburg, VA. A variety of community services were also offered, including public speaking to empower women and teens, educating the community on local resources, and helping parents through school partnerships.

Denisha Johnson, LLC began transitioning from mostly therapy focused, to also focusing on training new therapists. Hiring interns and residents became a key component of the business.

By April 2021, it was evident that being a solo practice no longer aligned with the business and/or personal journey for Denisha Johnson, LLC. At this time, the business name was formally changed to Journey to Wellness, to signify the journey for the business, client's, and new therapists.
